Presidential Palace, Kabul – H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, strongly condemns the terrorist attack yesterday in Beirut, Lebanon, causing the death of at least 14 people, including former Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri.

At least 135 people were hurt in the explosion.

“I condemn terrorist actions anywhere in the world, and this incident in Lebanon in particular. On behalf of the people of Afghanistan, I would like to present my sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to the people of Lebanon”, the President said in his reaction to the news.
