President Karzai Calls the Bombing at the Prayer Ceremony of Mawlawi Khalis as Disrespect to Jihad Leaders

Arg, Kabul – H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, strongly condemned the bombing at the prayer ceremony of Mawlawi Khalis.

The enemies of the people of Afghanistan detonated a bomb near the Hada Jami mosque in Jalalabad while people were giving prayer to the late Mawlawi Khalis, one of Afghanistan’s Jihadi leaders, killing 4 policemen and 4 civilian and injuring 16 others.

The President called this cowardly act of terrorism as a symbol of clear animosity towards the values of Islam and disrespect to our traditions.

The President said “This heinous act is not the work of Afghans as the people of Afghanistan never resort to violence at religious and prayer ceremonies.”  

The President expressed his deep sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the full and speedy recovery of the injured.
