President Hamid Karzai Expresses His Deep Regret at the Death of General Muhammad Ayoub Safi

H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, strongly condemned the terrorist attack in the province of Herat which killed General Muhammad Ayoub Safi.

According to reports, the enemies of Afghanistan detonated a roadside bomb aimed at General Muhammad Ayoub Safi on Thursday, killing him and at least four civilians and wounding four others.

The President expressed his deep regret at the death of General Safi and four civilians and said, “General Safi was an active police general who has performed his duties with diligence and efficiency. General Safi lost his life for the sake of peace and stability in Afghanistan.”

The President honoured General Safi with an honourary promotion to the rank of major general and instructed the relevant authorities to give financial assistance to his family.

The President expressed his deep condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the full and speedy recovery of the injured.
