President Karzai Receives Phone Call from President Bush

Arg, Kabul - H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, received a phone call from H.E. George W. Bush, President of the United States of America, this afternoon. 

The heads of state talked about the situation in Afghanistan and the region.  They discussed the progress Afghanistan is making, with help from the United States, to fight terrorism and rebuild itself.

President Bush invited his counterpart to visit Washington D.C. in the near future.  He assured President Karzai of the continuing and long-term support of the United States in Afghanistan.

President Karzai thanked President Bush for his and the American people's commitment to Afghanistan and said that he looked forward to visiting the U.S. in the near future.
