Press Release - Date of Release: 18 February 2006 Arg, Kabul – H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, is saddened by the unfortunate death of a large number of people in Philippines. According to reports, at least 1,800 people died due to a landslide caused by heavy rains in Philippines. The President, on behalf of the people of Afghanistan, expressed his deep sympathies and condolences to the people and Government of Philippines.
