President Karzai Strongly Condemns Terrorist Attack in Kabul

Arg, Kabul – H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Kabul this morning which killed at least 8 civilians and 2 Coalition soldiers and wounded a dozen.

According to reports, a suicide car bomb struck civilians and a US military convoy in the eastern area of Kabul city.

The President expressed his deep regret at the death of innocent people and of the American soldiers and said “This terrorist act is shocking and despicable and I condemn it in the strongest terms.”

“The enemies of Afghanistan are trying to hinder Afghanistan’s progress towards peace and democracy by disrupting the peaceful life of our people. Today’s heinous act of terrorism is against the values of Islam and humanity.”

The President expressed his heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the full and speedy recovery of the injured.
