On November 29, President Hamid Karzai received General Dan McNeil, Senior Commander of US forces, at the Presidential Palace.

The strengthening and equipping of the Afghan national army and police, enhancing the capacity of the Afghan air force, the hastening of training for the Afghan national police, and the recruitment of eligible individuals for the Afghan national police were discussed in detail.

General McNeil assured President Hamid Karzai of the continuation of US assistance to the reconstruction and security of Afghanistan and said, “NATO-ISAF will continue its fight against Taleban until they are completely defeated."

President Hamid Karzai said “Reconstruction work is taking place in parallel with efforts to ensure peace and security in the country, and the Afghan people are delighted by seeing their gradual results. The training for the Afghan national police and army must be accelerated.”
