President Hamid Karzai Meets Croatia’s Minister of Defence
 

President Hamid Karzai meeting Croatia's Minister of DefenceOn November 27, President Hamid Karzai received Berislav Roncevic, Minister of Defence of Republic of Croatia, at the Presidential Palace.

Minister Roncevic reaffirmed his country’s commitment to assisting Afghanistan and assured President Hamid Karzai that the Republic of Croatia will increase the number of its troops under ISAF-NATO PRTs in Afghanistan over the next year.

Minister Roncevic said “The Republic of Croatia is fully committed to the reconstruction of Afghanistan and will continue assisting the strengthening and equipping of the Afghan national army.”

The Republic of Croatia will stand by Afghanistan and spare no effort in ensuring the peace and prosperity of the people of Afghanistan. Croatia has also experienced war, and understands the value of peace.

President Hamid Karzai thanked Minister Roncevic for the assistance of the people of Croatia to the people of Afghanistan and said “The people of Afghanistan will never forget the generosity of the people of Croatia.

Minister Roncevic visited Kabul, Kandahar and Mazar-e-Sharif during his stay in the country. Currently, the Republic of Croatia has 160 troops in Afghanistan which operate under the auspices of NATO-ISAF.
