President Karzai Meets with Canadian Parliamentary Delegation

President Hamid Karzai met this afternoon in the Palace with a delegation of Canadian MPs from the House of Commons. The delegation, led by Conservative MP Rick Casson also included representatives from all the parties. 

Matters of discussion between the two sides were the up coming Paris Conference, Canada’s role in fighting drugs and ensuring security and economic development in southern parts of Afghanistan.

Mr. Rick Casson applauded the achievements Afghanistan has been making in the past several years and hoped Afghanistan can move forward in its path for development and prosperity. He said Canada would support Afghanistan’s goals which it presents in June in Paris Conference.

The President thanked the people of Canada for their continued generous support of Afghanistan and encouraged that relations between the parliaments of the two countries be strengthened even more.
