President Karzai Meets President of Finland 

On September 19, President Karzai met with Tarja Halonen, President of Finland, at UN headquarters in New York.

The two presidents discussed Finland’s assistance to Afghanistan and other bilateral and international issues.

During his stay in New York, President Karzai met separately with George Soros, head of the Open Society Institute, Lakhdar Brahimi, former UN Special Representative to Afghanistan, and Zalmay Khalilzad, US Ambassador to Iraq.
