President Karzai Receives Afghans Returning from Study Tours in the US

April 20, 2008 President Karzai met Sunday with over hundred Afghans who returned after receiving short and/or long term courses of study in the United States. Speaking during the event held in the Palace, the President termed such study opportunities as very important in cross cultural exchange and cement the cultural ties among the nations. The President called on the participants to use their learnt lessons for the improvement of the nation so that Afghanistan could also one day flourish as a developed country. The President thanked the US ambassador to Afghanistan, present in the meeting for their efforts in providing Afghans with opportunities for study trips to US. |
