President Hamid Karzai discussed on Wednesday with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper the future of NATO's Afghanistan mission.
Speaking on the phone, the two leaders exchanged views on the recent report released by a Canadian Committee on Canada’s future military mission in Afghanistan and assessed the report as generally “positive”.
President Karzai confirmed his support to the Canadian mission in Afghanistan calling it “crucial” and hoped other NATO allies also support the mission.
The President thanked PM Harper and the people of Canada for their support of Afghanistan and hoped that Canada’s assistance to the reconstruction in Afghanistan continues.
Prime Minister Harper reaffirmed his country’s continued commitment under NATO in helping the people of Afghanistan.
