On 18 March, President Hamid Karzai met heads and representatives of major German companies in Bochum University in Germany.
The President explained the achievements of Afghanistan in the past five years and said, “There are ample investment opportunities in Afghanistan in the areas of energy, construction, mines, telecommunication, and transport and the people of Afghanistan welcome investment by German firms.”
Recent assessment reports indicate that there are crude oil reserves and coal and iron mines which have remained intact so far and need to be exploited.
Representatives of German firms asked the President different questions which were answered.
