President Karzai Holds Session with Policy Action Group

On August 16, President Karzai chaired a session with the Policy Action Group at the Presidential Palace.  Its aim was to discuss the security situation in Afghanistan and ways of improving it.

Participants included senior Afghan government officials and representatives from the international community.

Comprehensive discussions were held and ideas exchanged.  It was collectively agreed that development and reconstruction must proceed hand in hand with security in order to improve living standards and provide employment in the provinces.
