On December 12, President Karzai during his visit to Kandahar received provincial traders and businessmen. In the meeting, Kandahar businessmen raised the problems they currently face including high taxes imposed at imported cars, electric appliances, and food stuff. They also raised the issue of government failure in providing necessary facilities for the businessmen and asked for a review of the high tax rate.
