President Hamid Karzai met in Kabul with Richard Boucher, US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs.
Both sides discussed the situation in Afghanistan and the region as well as different aspects of deepening mutual cooperation.
Mr. Boucher re-emphasized on the US continued assistance to Afghanistan and said his country fully supports the Donor Conference, which Paris will be hosting in June. He added that the Department of State with help from some other relevant authorities is working to identify and to fund special projects for Afghanistan during the upcoming Paris Conference.
Both sides called the recent NATO Summit in Bucharest as an important and historical event for support to Afghanistan.
President Karzai thanked people and the government of the United States for their commitment to the people of Afghanistan.
