President Karzai Discusses Security with Gen. Martin of US Central Command

May 11, 2008 President Hamid Karzai met Sunday in Palace in Kabul with Lt. Gen Martin E. Dempsey, who currently serves as acting commander for the US Central Command. Both sides discussed situation in Afghanistan and the region. Among other issues of mutual interest was the War on Terror and the United States’ continued assistance to train and equip Afghan National Army. The President thanked the US for its continued civilian and military contributions for Afghanistan. |
