President Karzai Discusses Polls with Senators

March 11, 2008 On Tuesday, President Hamid Karzai exchanged views with some members of the Afghan Upper House of the parliament on key issues about the upcoming elections of both presidential and parliamentary, a national census and the electoral law. Senator Arsala Rahmani advising against the separate elections said, "Security and logistical arrangements will extra pressure the elections administrators and security agencies if the four elections are to be held separately each." Also during discussions, the senators raised their environmental concerns and problems, for which the President instructed the relevant authorities to take necessary measures. |
