President Karzai meets Judges
 

In a meeting on Saturday with judges following their participation in a judicial seminar organized for the heads of provincial courts, President Karzai stressed it was the duty of judges to ensure justice, a key element in ensuring security.

Speaking on others’ behalf were Bahauddin Baha, a Supreme Court justice and Abdul Ghafar Sayeem, a Provincial Chief Judge, who briefed on the results of the “Provincial Chief Judges Seminar, held on 2nd through 9th November in Kabul. The seminar helped investigate 380 cases and introduce new methods and approaches of addressing judicial problems.

“The Seminar provided an opportunity to sort out issues that were left unlooked for many years,” continued Mr. Baha “The Supreme Court will continue to make every possible effort to improve the judicial system in the country.”

The President applauded the commitment by the chief judges and stated that people want to see improvement in the justice sector. The President emphasized, “People expect justice to be applied when they approach courts” and said he hoped the drive the Supreme Court has launched to improve the system may turn out effective.
