On August 09, 2006, the last five ministers that were approved by the Parliament on Monday were sworn in by president Karzai in the Gulkhana Palace.
The official Oath Taking Ceremony began with verses recited from the holy Quran. The Ministers of Economy, Trade and Industries, Transportation, Women’s Affairs and Youths and Culture took the oath given by the President.
Wishing them success in their future assignments in serving Afghan nation, the President said, “Now that the cabinet of Afghanistan is completed, it is the duty of all of us to take strong, firm and careful steps in improving people’s lives and move the country forward.
The ceremony ended with prayer for success and well being of the Afghan nation.
The ceremony was attended by the vice-presidents, members of the cabinet, Marshal Qasim Fahim, the senior advisor and other high ranking officials.
