President Karzai Meets with Members of Herat Understanding Council

H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, met with members of the Understanding Council of Herat province at the Gulkhana palace.

During the meeting, the members of Herat Understanding Council discussed the security, economic and social situation of the province of Herat as well as the needs and challenges this province is facing.

The council members gave assurances that they will continue their efforts to ensure unity among the people of Herat.

The President praised their work for the people of Herat and called on them to work with the people of Herat on their needs.

The Understanding Council of Herat province was set up after the sad incident which occurred on the 10^th of Muharam in Herat and worked with the people of Heart to bring security and peace. The President promised the council that the Government will work further in providing the right opportunities for bringing further development in the concerned areas.
