President Hamid Karzai met on September 4 in the Presidential Palace in Kabul a team of National Defense College (NDC) of India.
Issues of mutual importance including strengthening the historical ties between the two countries were discussed.
The members of the NDC headed by Sheri Yougender Kumar said they are happy to visit Afghanistan and meet President Karzai. The delegation emphasized that stronger cultural ties will further benefit people of both countries and suggested for more scientific interactions between the two nations.
In presence to the meeting was also ambassador of India to Afghanistan, Rakesh SOOD, who talked about the number of Afghan students studying in India.
Terming relations between India and Afghanistan as friendly, the President thanked India for providing higher study scholarships to the Afghan youths. The scholarships have turned effective in capacity building in Afghanistan.
President Karzai applauded India as one of the close friends and partners to Afghanistan that has supported the progress Afghanistan has been making.
