On December 4, President Hamid Karzai received community elders, members of Sar-e-Pul’s Provincial Council and representatives of the province of Sar-e-Pul at the Presidential Palace.
Sayed Eqbal Munib, Governor of Sar-e-Pul Province, addressed the effects of drought and the need for creating more jobs and vocational training for the Afghan youth.
Mawlawi Ghani, Head of the Provincial Council, briefed the President on the current situation in Sar-e-Pul and asked the Government to provide professional teachers to teach their students, and to build a 150-bed hospital in the provincial capital and 50-bed hospitals in the districts of Sar-e-Pul province.
Mawlawi Abdul Khaleq, another community representative, asked the Government to focus its attention on the improvement of agriculture, the generation of electricity, and the construction of oil refineries.
The President addressed their problems and instructed the relevant ministries to look into them and to take proper actions.
The meeting was also attended by the Ministers of Education and Public Works.
