On December 4, with the first heavy snowfall of the winter season, President Hamid Karzai instructed a joint commission made up of the representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President to distribute emergency relief supplies to the Internally Displaced People (IDPs) and repatriated families.
At the cabinet meeting, the President enquired about the plight of IDP and repatriated families and instructed the commission members to visit the IDP camps and prepare a report.
The commission presented its report to the cabinet meeting this morning, and the President instructed the commission to distribute emergency relief to the IDP and repatriated families in the light of the report.
Dr. Sayed Muhammad Fatemi, Minister of Health and Barna Karimi, Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, distributed emergency relief supplies to the IDP and repatriated families this afternoon in several IDP camps in Kabul.
The Ministry of Health will continue the distribution of emergency relief to the IDP and repatriated families in Kabul city.
