H.E. Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, held a meeting with representatives of people from Kakrak, Dahjawz, Balohi, Khurma, Nawa and Darafshan villages of Uruzgan province, who have been affected during the anti-terrorist aerial operations conducted on 09 July 2006.
In the meeting, the President expressed his sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the full and speedy recovery of the injured.
The President listened to their problems and instructed the relevant authorities to look into these problems and take immediate action to resolve them.
The President caressed the children who had lost their parents in the incident. The President also instructed the authorities to provide the affected families with financial assistance totaling Afs 20 million.
In accordance with a Presidential Decree number 1497 a mission led by Mawlawi Moheyuddin Balouch had been sent to Uruzgan province. Upon return, this mission presented a brief report on their work and today’s meeting is the result of the findings of the mission.
