President Karzai Welcomes President of Turkmenistan to Kabul

President Karzai Discusses Electoral System with Chief Elections Commissioner of India

In a meeting with President Hamid Karzai on Tuesday in the Palace in Kabul, India’s Chief Election Commissioner N. Gopalaswami described to the President the electoral systems and methods practiced in India.

President Karzai Awards Canadian General State Medal of Distinguished Service

Pres. awarding medal to Cn. Gen.President Hamid Karzai decorated Monday Gen. Dennis Tabbernor, Deputy Commanding General for Army Development with Medal of Baryal (a state medal of excellence awarded for distinguished military service).

EU Foreign Policy Chief Reaffirms Long-term Support to Afghanistan

April 21, 2008

Pre. during a joint press conf. with EU chief of Foreign PolicyEuropean Union's foreign policy chief, Javier Solana reiterated Europe's commitment to "the long haul" in Afghanistan during a visit to Kabul.

In a joint press availability with President Karzai following their meeting, Mr. Solana said the European Union was dedicated to the reconstruction of Afghanistan and its assistance would continue until Afghanistan could reach to stability, peace and prosperity.  [Read Full story]

Canadian Foreign Minister Hails the Progress in Afghanistan

April 12, 2008

Pres. Karzai during a meeting in Kabul with Canadian FMPresident Karzai met with Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxime Bernier in Kabul. Among the key issues of discussion were the war on terrorism, security and Canada’s continued assistance for reconstruction and economic development in Afghanistan.
